Beautiful kokeshi with bark and hand painted wooden landscape painting.

These dolls filled with poetry and nature were originally made for children and then offered as a sign of love or friendship, also brought back as a souvenir and small gift from the various thermal regions. They could also symbolize the wish for a healthy child. These are artisanal creations reflecting the richness and beauty of the landscapes of the archipelago. Today, Omiyage kokeshis or souvenirs like this one are no longer made in Japan.
