Kokeshi aux hiraganas
Four kokeshis decorated with hiragana, Japanese characters with beautiful graphics, haikus, Japanese poetry... These vintage kokeshis show signs of the passage of time...
Kokeshis, dolls filled with poetry and nature, were originally made for children and then offered as a sign of love or friendship, also brought back by the Japanese as a souvenir and small gift from the various thermal regions. They could also symbolize the wish for a healthy child. These are artisanal creations which, with the paintings and haikus that adorn them, are an evocation of the beauty of the landscapes and the fascinating culture of the archipelago. This type of Kokeshi is no longer made in Japan today.
