Kokeshi créative Sôsaku signée
Large creative kokeshi with hand-carved body of gouges, signed by the prolific kokeshi master Okamoto Usaburo. Vintage object from Japan showing traces of wear and tear.
These dolls filled with poetry and nature were originally made of wood for children and then offered as a sign of love or friendship, also brought back by the Japanese as a souvenir and small gift from the various thermal regions. In the past, they could also symbolize the wish for a healthy child. These are artisanal creations which, with the paintings and haikus that adorn them, are an evocation of the beauty of the landscapes and the fascinating culture of the archipelago. This type of Kokeshi is no longer manufactured in Japan today.
